I want to delete avast. however the application is always open and can therefore not be sent to trash. I do not see it in force quit . How can I prevent avast from opening at start up. Avast does not have options uninstall and no opening at start up

A couple of ways to do this-

1) You can try booting in ➔ Safe Mode and then after the Mac boots up you can begin to delete it. The thought process here is that, in Safe Mode, macOS will not load Avast.

2) The other way is to boot up normally and then open System Preferences ➔ Users & Groups ➔ Highlight your username in the left column ➔ Login Items tab in the right column - Highlight Avast and then remove it by clicking on the - Sign. You may be asked to enter your system password to perform this action.

After that you can reboot with the assumption that Avast will not load this time and then you can delete it.

~Library > Application Support > Avast

~Library > Caches > com.avast.AAFM

~Library > LaunchAgents > com.avast.home.userpront.plist
