16 inch MBP, Keyboard and Trackpad not working after waking up from sleep

Every time my 16 inch MBP wakes up from sleep or restarts I get the Bluetooth assistant pop up and says it cannot find the Bluetooth Keyboard or trackpad or one for the device.

It runs through the bluetooth setup and usually when its done searching it'll stop and they will both come back on. I have never had a bluetooth keyboard or trackpad attached to this or any other computer. Not sure whats going on but it was happening before and after the macOS Catalina 10.15.5 update.

Sorry for the delay, and thanks for the reply. I didn't, but I unchecked "Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup if no keyboard is detected" and "Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup if no mouse or trackpad is detected" and that seems to have stopped the issue. Hopefully Apple will get on a patch for this.

Hello, I have the same issue with the same computer.

My issue started after I turned on "unlock with Apple Watch" in the General tab in Security & Privacy Settings. It may be an issue with the Apple Watch attempting to bypass Touch ID. I turned it off and it appears to be working.

Have you tried disconnecting any recent bluetooth devices you paired with the notebook computer?
