Disabled iPhone not connecting to pc.

Hi,

I have an old iPhone that is currently disabled. I want to reset it so I can use the camera for a project. When I start the phone it says to connect to iTunes. However when I connect the phone to my laptop its not being recognized. I have checked the USB cable (works fine to charge plugged into the mains) and I have checked the USB port which works fine for other devices. I have had a look on the forums and it says to hold down the sleep button and the home button but that does nothing it just goes to sleep.

I think it is an iPhone 7.

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Community! I see you are having an issue with restoring your iPhone to factory settings, it is important to be able to use your iPhone normally.

This article helps with guiding instructions of how to restore your device using iTunes.

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

After using the steps in the article and you are still unable to get you iPhone detected by iTunes, you can try a different cable and a different computer and see if the issue is still there.
