BenQ PD2500Q Monitor (2560x1440p) not working with Macbook Air 5.2 13'' mid 2012 - SOLVED

Hi all,

I've just bought a BenQ PD2500Q Monitor. I tried connecting it with the provided mini DisplayPort cable, but there was no image on the monitor, just a message saying "Not signal detected". HDMI worked but only at 1080p.

I tried a lot of things and searched the Internet for a solution. There are some suggestions but the one that worked for me was to reset the SMC (as stated in this article https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT201295), same article suggest also to reset NVRAM (https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT204063) but that was not needed in my case.

After reseting the SMC, the monitor came to life. Resolution was wrong but was just a matter of changing it in the properties, afterwards its working flawlesly (fingers crossed).
