Time Capsule with Linksys Velop
Can I use my Time Capsule as a router with my two Velop nodes as extenders? If so, how to set it up? Thanks.

You can ethernet connect the first Velop to the TC (turn off the TC wireless) and use Velop in AP mode. So TC can still work as the main router. Second Velop then meshes to the first. That is feasible.

No, but assuming that one of the Linksys products has a spare LAN <--> Ethernet port, you could probably use the Time Capsule as a back up hard drive on the Velop network.
Ideally, the Time Capsule would connect to the "main" Velop router.....the one that connects to your modem, but it could connect to one of the satellite nodes.
I understood the question as to whether the TC could act as the main network router and also as an access point as part of the Linksys mesh system. That won't work, but then again maybe I misunderstood the question.
The TC could be configured as the main (wired only) router with a simple modem, but then you are using a 7+ year old design as the "brains" for the network. This will work, but given the choice, most users would probably prefer the newer router design to be in charge of the network.
Then, there is always the thought that a Time Capsule is probably going to be 5+ years old, and that is about the time when they tend to start acting up.
Maybe the OP can clarify exactly what he has in mind, and whether he wants newer or older technology to be charge of the network.
Just a comment.. even if the TC is old you do not have to sign up to Linksys account to set it up.
One thing I really dislike with a lot of modern mesh routers is the requirement to use a phone app and setup via internet rather than internally on the network using a setup app like the TC or standard browser like every other router. And you don't need to supply personal details to the manufacturer.

Bob Timmons. You understood my question correctly. Thanks for the response. It makes sense and I won't pursue using my TC as the main router.
