Contacts are still syncing from my mums phone to mine

I have recently brought a new phone and my mum is now using my old one. I have logged out of my iCloud on my old phone so that my mum can log into her iCloud. We are both logged into different iClouds and on separate phones but the contacts still get synced to each mobile. I have checked that we don't have each others devices on each others iCloud, so I'm unsure of what else to do to stop the contacts syncing onto each others phone? Any suggestions please?

The contacts are not synced using icloud and have different Apple ID and password on both iPhones , you are syncing the devices using USB see the article https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mchlf24d4e49/10.15/mac/10.15

Or is it wifi syncing https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mchlada1d602/10.15/mac/10.15

See the last paragraph of this article .

Syncing over Wi-Fi is slower than syncing over a cable. If you connect a device to your Mac while the device is syncing over Wi-Fi, syncing continues over the cable. If you disconnect the device’s cable from the Mac while syncing, syncing stops even if Wi-Fi syncing is on. Syncing resumes when you reconnect the device using a cable or over Wi-Fi.

It also applies for two iPhones .
