Replacement AirPod Pro flashing amber case

My replacement right AirPod pro causes my case to flash amber when the lid is open. L and R AirPods Pro are showing up SEPARATELY in my Bluetooth. Both can connect at the same time, but only one plays sound at a time depending on which one I put in my ear first. I tried resetting the case but it always flashes when both AirPods are in the case and the lid is open. It stops flashing amber when only one AirPod is in the case.

Ideas? I already reset my network settings and rebooted my iPhone. I “forgot the device” and reconnected without success.

Hello,

Place both AirPods in their charging case and connect the charging case to its charger. Allow the AirPods to sit for a few hours.
