Bluethooth switching devices when using phone

How do I stop my iPhone 8 plus from switching from my Bluetooth headset to my vehicle audio system, when streaming music from the iPhone 8 plus to the vehicle when making or receiving calls?

For example: Headset and Vehicle are both connected to iPhone 8 plus via Bluetooth, iPhone 8plus is streaming to vehicle, call comes in, I change Bluetooth to headset and answer call, once call is connected the Bluetooth automatically switch’s back to vehicle. I have gone thru the previous answers on this question, which all say to go; Settings > General > Accessibility > Bluetooth Routing... I do not have an accessibility option in Settings > General...


Any suggestions?

I understand from your question that you want to choose which bluetooth accessory you want to use. I can certainly help you with this!


What I would do is answer the call and then switch bluetooth devices from the call interface.

While on a call on iPhone


"Adjust the audio during a call

  • Change the volume: Press the volume buttons on the side of iPhone.
  • Mute: Tap the mute button.
  • Put the call on hold: Touch and hold the mute button.
  • Talk handsfree: Tap the speaker button to switch to the speakerphone, or tap the audio button to switch to a connected Bluetooth device."

Your suggestion is what I am doing presently, however the iPhone switches back to vehicle once connected, and in this day and age where distracted driving is Thing... I would like my phone to stay on the selected bluetooth item during whatever mode I choose, and not switch between the available Bluetooth connections on its own.
