I have recently obtained a second HomePod and created a stereo pair. It plays Music in stereo but when I play through Airplay on Apple TV it only shows each HomePod separately and only allows me to choose one HomePod to play through.
I have a 3rd Generation Apple TV, is that the issue?

The 3rd generation Apple Tv has tv os 7.5 and cannot be upgraded further
Thsts correct, so it’s not compatible
