Whenever I make or receive a call the person can’t hear me unless I'm on speaker

Whenever I make or receive a car the person on the other line can’t hear me unless I am on speaker or FaceTime what can I do to prevent this from happening

Caller cannot hear me, on Apple Car Play Recently, when a call comes into my i phone while connected in my car via Apple Car play (USB connection), I can hear them, but they cannot hear me. I can answer the call and hear the caller clearly through the car speakers, but my voice is not transmitted. Lexus UX vehicle.

If you only hear through speaker phone mode --> If your iPhone is stuck in headphone mode - Apple Support
