Can I use Airplay 2 on my Macbook Pro 16” to stream 8k video to my Samsung 8k TV?

I have the option to watch 8k video on my Macbook Pro 16” through YouTube. I have mirrored my macbook to my 8K Samsung TV but I can’t tell if it’s actually streaming in 8K. Would using a wired connection make a difference? I have my settings set to “Best for...”. At the moment there is no way to check the TV’s resolution whilst using Airplay 2. Any thoughts?
