DO I PURCHASE THE SIDECAR APP FOR MY MAC AND STORY FOR MY IPAD TO USE SIDECAR

Do I need to purchase the Sidecar app for my iMac and the Story app for my iPad to be able to use my iPad as a second monitor in OS Catalina?
