When I try to connect my new phone (running 13.5.1) to my laptop running el Capitan, I get the notice that I need to download software so it will connect. However, each time, after downloading, it says it can't install.
I have most recent iTunes. All updates done.
Any ideas? I need to connect to iTunes on my computer so I can restore my backup to my new phone.

OK......I have just read that iTunes on El Capitan should still work with an iPhone running iOS 13 or higher.

what makes it stranger is that I can connect my phone and run the software install on another Macbook, which is OLDER, and that is running El Capitan. The only difference is Macbook (2013) vs Macbook Air (2014).
no. i have software that won't work with Catalina.
I tried the page that was suggested for fixes. It did not work.
Unfortunately, I have limited knowledge about Mac OS, so hopefully, someone with direct experience will chime in here.
