Awful experience uploading large number of photos to icloud photos from my pc

I am trying to upload 35000 photos (195GB) from my pc to Icloud photos. Has been a horrendous experience getting all the photos into the icloud photos file on my pc, but I did it. But now the upload seems to have crashed about 1/3 of the way through and no photos have updated in icloud now for 24 hours. I have a new pc with lots of RAM and memory and my upload speed is 11.3Mbps. What can I do to get them to continue to upload?
