I am trying to use me Apple TV device on my Samsung tv. Although I am entering g my Apple ID and password correctly, it keeps replying that they don’t match. Then I am sent a verification code. I then have to re-enter my password followed by the verification code and it still doesn’t work. Very frustrating. What am I missing?

This sounds like it is related to Two-Factor Authentication. You will need to generate a secure code from another device and type it after your password. Example: password123456
