Sound Coming From Earpiece Instead of The Usual playback Speaker

Good day,

please assist with this issue. Up until a few days ago, all sound on my iPhone 8 is coming from the earpiece. It is really frustrating because I cannot hear my alarms or play music on my phone. The most frustrating part though is the phone calls. People can barely hear me when I speak if I do not put the phone on speaker. And when I do, the sound still comes from the earpiece.

I have already tried the audio balance setting and mono audio and all those seemed to do is just change the balance of the sound coming from the earpiece. I have also tried rebooting the phone several times with no luck.

please help. This issue might just cost me my job.

Hello MsiraxTheApplist,

Thanks for posting on Apple Support Communities. From what I understand, your speaker won't play any sound and your bottom mic won't pick up sound. But there does appear to be sound from your receiver. You've already checked any sound settings and restarted your device several times. The following article has some troubleshooting steps to try first.
