Apple may still provide an out of warranty replacement service, but it isn't cheap:

Depending on what the issue is there might be a DIY route you can go down. Batteries are reasonably cheap and easy to replace. Hard drives might need replacing with an adaptor as the original drives are no longer made or in stock.
