Connecting two Mini Mac's for storage purposes.

I have a late 2018 and a late 2014 Mini Mac(s) both with the same processor i7.

Can I hook them together to use one as my main computer and the other one as a type of external storage?

Thanks!

Mac mini, 10.14

You could use Target Disk Mode with a Thunderbolt 3 (USB- C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter and Thunderbolt 2 cable.

But IMHO it would be better to sell or repurpose the older Mac Mini as a second work station or media server and just get a large USB-C external drive to use with the new Mac Mini.
