My IMac emits odor from the Keyboard

Has anyone who owns a new IMC desktop noticed an unusual metallic like odor emitting from the charging port on the back of the keyboard? I actually just sent the first one back after 10 months and the new one is throwing off the same weird smell.

Thanks!

New computers and replacement components do emit odors for a while. It might be the plastic or solvent used to clean them etc. Generally the odor lasts for a couple days but some people are more sensitive than others. BDAqua’s idea of using a fan is a good one. At the least it could direct the odor away from your face instead of floating upwards at you.

Hi ,

I actually got a replacement keyboard and this one smells as bad as the first one and its brand new. I tried wrapping it in cellophane because its so annoying, but there's still a scent of it . I even have a piece of tape over the charging port. I'm at a loss here. I had the first one for about 9 months with no odor. This is very annoying , I don't know what else to do.

Thank you,
