Logic Pro X: Fails to startup: 'eLicenser Control - Error'.

Hello.

This query refers to LPX v10.5.1.

A few days ago my nephew contacted saying LPX would not run up and he was seeing an error:

'eLicenser Control - Error'

'Application 'REV-X AU' has caused the following error:

eLicenser(s) contains(s) no valid license for this application.'

I tried LPX on my machine, I got exactly the same failure mode and error!

Once you get this error you have two choices, 'Cancel', thus terminating LPX, or 'Retry' which eventually after half a dozen attempts LPX just aborts anyway.

I've deleted LPX, re-installed it again, same failure mode.

At one point, and I cannot reproduce this, I managed to get LPX to run. I looked at the audio units/plugin configuration under 'Preferences' and it appeared that about more that half of the plugins could not be loaded. Looks like something has gone awry with the plugin manager/license manager.

Anyone else seeing this issue?

I am having a few issues with e License as well but with Cubase on iMac. The Steinberg support guys suggested I start Cubase with the eLicenser program running in parallel.

I don’t have the problem anymore and I don’t know how it got resolved but 8 have done the following:

  • running elic app in parallel
  • if you have a physical eLicenser fob, plug it into a different usb port
  • also, I read on google there are two versions of the plugin you are using...

I have exactly the same issue, I upgraded to Catalina. I am using an Steinberg UR44 USB Audio Interface which I updated to the specifications required by Catalina, I mean 64 Bits precisely. It was working perfectly until yesterday. It has been about 2 weeks more less since I upgraded to Catalina. My machine is an iMac Retina 5K 27 inches 2017, processor 4.2 GHz Quad Core Intel i7, Memory 64GB 2400mhZ DDR4, Graphics Radeon Pro 580 8GB.

It is frustrating, I reinstalled everything and I updated all the correspondent things, same frustrating result.

Anyone there with a possible solution?

Regards

I'm having the same issue. And when launching Logic, I can't even get past the splash screen

This message is hidden BEHIND the Logic Splash screen and only comes up if I Force Close the app.

I've reinstalled all of the Steinberg stuff numerous times as well as the elicenser software and also ran it in tandem with Logic and still get the same results.

My next very unfortunate step is to attempt to downgrade back to Mojave, but I'd like to avoid that if at all possible.

I've reached out to tech friends, scoured multiple articles on the internet and still reach the same issues.
