VPN Tethering - missing VPN connection under system preferences - Internet sharing

Hi,

I try to share my VPN Internet connection from MacPro running OS Catalina with other devices. I set up the VPN manually and it connects smoothly. But when I go under System Preferences - Internet Sharing I only can choose between USB 10/100 LAN; Thunderbolt Ethernet; WLAN; Bluetooth PAN and Thunderbolt Bridge. So I'm missing the VPN connection which I would need to choose in order to share.

Any ideas how to solve that issue?

Thank you!

Thank you Bob for your prompt reply. I understand what you explained. Actually I'm doing this most of the time. I'm living in a country with Internet restrictions and from time to time my friends need a VPN environment in order to download material from blocked websites. They don't want to buy a VPN for themselves, because they don't need it on a daily basis. I don't want to set up a VPN router in my house. So I was looking for alternatives and found several information on how to share the Mac's Internet access including VPN. It seems that older version of OS were able to share the VPN as well. Maybe the Catalina doesn't provide that anymore.

Thank you again for your help.

Mark
