Garage band is recording the metronome click. I am using a simple audio interface with XLR input, and USB to a MacBook Pro, playing a real instrument. It seems that the interface is routing the metronome click. How can I play my instrument in time with a click, using an interface, without recording that click? Help!

Thank you Keith but I think I have resolved it. It seems I was using the wrong port coming out of the interface. There are two options coming out of the interface to USB. I think I’m all set but if I run into trouble I will come back to this valuable resource. Thanks all for being here.
Are you using headphones?
Yes but they only work through the interface. Headphones into the computer while the interface is connected don’t work.
