Touch ID/Password Macbook 16" 2019

Touch ID flaky. I always have to press button two or three times and even then sometimes it fails to recognise my print. I added a second print but the same thing happens.

Plus, the last time I started up, I was asked (as is usual for security on start up) for my password - however the box into which to insert the password didn't appear. I restarted and this time the box appeared. I have currently disabled Touch ID altogether.

It's a weird suggestion, but when I had this issue, my solution was to simply clean up the Touch ID area. It worked. Sometimes it works bad when is dirty. You may try that.
