Touch ID MacBook Air

My MacBook Air is only a few months old however suddenly I find that Touch ID isn't working to unlock my MacBook Air. I deleted one of my fingerprints and added two but to no avail. I checked my settings in Preferences and all options are checked. I believe there has been a recent update which I accepted. It appears to have stopped working after the update. How do I resolve this issue? Is there another update or is my MacBook Air defective?

Hi da170d,

We see that after a recent update your MacBook Air is not able to unlock with the Touch ID feature. Touch ID is a great option to quickly unlock your Mac and also secure your files and data. We're glad you reached out for help.

Take a look at the resources below for Touch ID settings and preferences that may help.
