What is this each morning a pop up comes up on my home page “CARRIER SETTINGS UPDATE new settings are available . Would you like to update them now? Choice Not Now or update” what is this ??

This is your phone service provider (such as ATT, Verizon, etc) sending a firmware update to help your phone work better on their system.
You are correct this is a different type of notification than I’ve previously received, appreciate your help
How would my cell phone carrier Verizon Wireless (flip phone very basic no texting) know that I have an IPad and carrier is Comcast??
