8gb vs 16gb memory in Mac mini 2020
Hi all,
Looking to purchase a Mac mini and need some informed advice on specs. Thanks to advice on here I have opted for the i7 and probably the 512gb SSD as a future proofing decision.
My question is:
memory can be upgraded later, however is 8gb going to be noticeably limited? Is 16gb a core expectation in a modern Mac? Would opting for 16gb at first purchase be the wisest choice?
I intend to create short instructional videos for students using a camera set up (currently Ipevo visualiser but possibly an old Gopro) with studio mic, screencast on Screenflow, basic video editing as I increase my expertise but not professionally. All the while background Microsoft spreadsheets, email etc. for workflow.
Another consideration is after sales memory purchase. Would third party installation of memory affect the apple care warranty? But I guess that can be answered by sales.
Would be great to hear your informed views.
