Notes Disappeared

My Notes on my Macbook were not syncing with iCloud. I followed advice found elsewhere in this Apple Support Community forum and I signed out of iCloud and back in via Preferences -> iCloud. Nothing changed. Next I unchecked the box next to Notes in the iCloud settings as well. After that my Notes on my Mac completely disappeared and are still not syncing with the iCloud at all.

In my research, others have seen the same with no solution. Where are the Notes that were being stored locally? Are they recoverable? And how can I get Notes on my Macbook to sync again?

Many thanks

In the initial stage in Mac system preferences > iCloud if the notes box was always checked the designated data would have saved on iCloud , unchecking the box of notes will only disconnect the application , and notes will disappear from the application , as soon as the notes box is checked they will start syncing with high network speed .

You signed out Apple ID from Mac see this link https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-13681

If you again sign in with same Apple ID and password the notes will start syncing from the server ( they are never lost ) if you always had checked the notes box .

If you had still issues create a new test user account https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204443
