Activity Monitor show mds.stores using 99.5 of cpu Should i be worried and if yes, what can i do?

MacBook Pro 13”, macOS 10.15

Glad you were able to use Activity Monitor to determine which process or app is taking up the CPU capacity.

mds_stores is part of the Spotlight Indexing process. This process normally only takes up a nominal portion of the CPU however if you have just updated the macOS then it gets into the indexing mode and can take up some time to finish the process. While it is indexing, it can use up a good chunk of the CPU.

The CPU consumption should settle after indexing is complete.
