My computer recognizes my iPad, but the new Music app doesn't. I can't sync. What can I do?

My question is what can I do. ITunes worked perfectly, and I have no intention of subscribing to Apple Music. I am so very sorry that I upgraded to Catalina, as now my Microsoft Word also will not work.

Finder, not the Music app, is where you now manage and sync content on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
