In Books... in iOS if I click delete I can choose between deleting *locally* or everywhere.
In OSX... the only delete option is to delete the book EVERYWHERE... including iCloud - and then it will be deleted from all other devices
It happens that I only want to delete it from my Mac... and kept it in the cloud
Anybody - any ideas?

So you mean in the System preferences, Apple ID, iCloud Drive and then deselect Books.app?
(although this works fine in iOS)

It solves the problem.
I think this is a bug in Books... because in iOS we can decided what to delete ... and in OSX not... but as mentioned your suggestion helped!
