Apple Watch paring - Verification Failed There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server

I just had my iPhone 11 repaired by Apple (works great by the way now) and I’m trying to pair my watch to my phone. Everything is going good until it asks for sign in your Apple ID. We are on a family sharing. So the watch signs into my Apple ID no problem, then it asks for the ITunes & Apple Music account which is the family sharing ID account. That’s when I get Verification Failed There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server. I’m all updated on both phone and watch. I tried restore from an iCloud & also new set on the watch. Still get the same message. The watch works but I can’t download new apps or use the music when I go for my run. Any ideas?

Hello duane40,

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Community! I see you are having an issue signing in with your App Store & iTunes, it is important to be able to download your applications on your Watch.

The watch settings usually feeds from you iPhone settings. If you have a different Apple ID for your App Store & iTunes settings, go on your iPhone to Settings>"Your Name">iTunes & App Store and check the Apple ID signed in at the top of the page and make sure it is not asking you for a password for that account. If it asks for verification code, make sure you finish all the steps required for a complete sign in.

Sign in with your Apple ID.

If you can't connect or sign in to iCloud.

Take Care!
