Managing screentime on different devices

Hi there,

For work purposes, I prefer turning off the limits on my MacBook with intentions of keeping the limits on my iPhone. However, every time I revise my screentime limits on my MacBook, my iPhone responds the same way. They are both under the same iCloud account, but is there any way I would be able to remove the limits from one device while maintaining the limits on the other?

Hello lulubeta,

Thanks for posting on Apple Support Communities. I understand you have Screen Time set up on your iPhone to limit usage but don't want to limit usage on your MacBook. You are signed in with the same Apple ID on both devices.

When signed in with the same Apple ID on multiple devices, limits apply to all of your devices that use Screen Time and have 'Share across devices' turned on. See the section titled Limit usage in this article, Use Screen Time on your Mac. On your iPhone you can find the 'Share across devices' setting by tapping Settings> Screen Time> Share Across Devices.

Hope that helps!

Cheers!
