Whatsapp contacts not sync with iPhone contacts

When I added a new contact on iPhone, the contact will not automatically sync with Whatsapp. So every time I would like to message a new contact, I will have my other contacts/friends send me this new contact card so I will be able to message them. It’s very annoying and not at all efficient. I have tried all the standard troubleshooting like checking the privacy granted for whatsapp on iPhone settings. I also tried uninstall and reinstall Whatsapp but still not working. This issue started when I change to the new iPhone 11 last december. Anyone experiencing this?
