USB ports don’t work on Cinema Display.

I have a 20 inch DVI Cinema Display and can’t see to get the USB ports working. I have tried different computers, but nothing changes. The FireWire ports work fine. Is this something that I could fix?

My mouse for example works fine when plugged into the keyboard.

But it doesn’t work in the monitor...

I had the same thought as Quickpost. I thought your display was plugged into the keyboard just like the mouse example you show. If it is, you need to use a logic board port on the computer case. Keyboard USB ports are quite weak, intended to run nothing more demanding that mice. Many won't even power a USB thumb drive.

Hard to say without our knowing what Mac model/sub-model all this is attached to. Can you let us know?

The mac I am currently using with the display, PowerMac G5, I also used it on two iMac 2007 machines. All of them I had the display's USB cable plugged directly to the computer, not the keyboard. I'm trying to get it so my keyboard and mouse run off the monitor so I don't have to have the keyboard's usb cord tightly pulled behind my speakers to the front of my powermac. (due to the current setup, my keyboard only barely reaches the front of the tower.) I used my mouse as an example because of it's light. As for the keyboard it can power my mouse and a USB stick, although it would help if the mouse was plugged to the monitor so I could use both keyboard ports.
