Wacom Tablet With Different Users

We recently setup an additional user account on our iMac for our son. When we switch from one user to the next the Wacom tablet disconnects from the other user. It will only correct itself if we reboot the computer. My son does not use the Wacom. Is there a way to set up his user profile so it doesn’t use the Wacom? Will that fix the problem? Are there better solutions? It’s really frustrating, especially since the Wacom tablet is used for work.

Wacom software has been problematic with Mac OS for several generations of Mac OS. The first thing I'd check to see is if the Wacom app is as up-to-date as possible and if it is and the problem persists, try restarting in Safe Mode ( Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac ) and then restart normally and retest. If the problem persists, well then you have found your work-around, restarting the computer. You can contact Wacom and post on their forums and see if anyone there has found a solution or you can provide the feedback to the Wacom developers.
