Two weeks ago I used points from my Visa Sapphire charge card to purchase a new 16" MacBook Pro. My serial number comes up ineligible for Apple Care. How do I purchase Apple Care?

If you entered your serial number on the website, and your Mac was listed as ineligible, there might be an issue with the information on file, or there could be a reason for the computer to be ineligible.

If your serial number is ineligible, it could indicate a problem with when the item was registered as sold. Better contact the seller and ask them about it. Are they an authorized Apple retailer? Also contact Apple Support through the Contact Support link at top right of this page.
Thank you.Cunnla. It could be that Chase Visa purchased the computer from Apple more than 90 days ago and thus the “ineligible” status on Apple Care. I will call Chase in the morning. Please contact AppleCare. If you call them or if you schedule a call back on apple.com, they could try and see if there are any options.
Did you buy it from Apple or from an authorized Apple retailer?
Normally, you have 60 days to buy Apple Care.
I went onto Chase.com and ordered the MacBook Pro using my points directly from their website. They mailed me the MacBook Pro. I did not go to an Apple Store to order or pick it up.
If Chase is not an authorized Apple retailer it's unlikely that Apple will make an exception. You might ask the seller to send you a more recently purchased Mac.
