IPHONE Xsmax water damage

I thought this phone was water resistant. I happen to have my phone in water for about 1 min. The results is the phone keeps turning off, no vibration and some lines appear on the screen. Can someone help me out with this?

Hello Issah,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

From what I understand, you iPhone XS Max was in water for about 1 minute and now the iPhone is turning off, no vibration and lines appear on the display, correct? I'm here to help you take a look in to that!

Here is an article to read over about water resistants with the iPhone XS Max:

With the events happening with your iPhone, I would encourage a backup to iCloud or iTunes:

Based on your description, I would encourage you to reach out to Apple Support directly. They will be able to provide you with additional information and review different options with you:
