Deleting pages from a PDF

Delete a page from a PDF: Choose View > Thumbnails or View > Contact Sheet, select the page or pages to delete, then press the Delete key on your keyboard (or choose Edit > Delete).

I did this but it doesn't work. Edit > Delete is grayed out and pressing the delete key does nothing.

Some PDFs are encrypted which prevents any edits to them and only allows opening/viewing.

Here's Apples support article on how they do it. But the encryption could be from wherever you got the file from.

A work around you can try is to print the document, but print it to PDF. Essentially you're creating a duplicate copy but without encryption. Then you can edit whatever you want to the new copy, and discard the old file.
