Please try resetting the NVRAM and restarting in Safe mode. If these still do not work the computer maybe damaged. You can take it to a Apple Authorized Service Provide to have it tested and then you can decide what to do.

NVRAM Reset & Safe Mode Reset instructions

One thing you can also try is getting a USB to Ethernet adapter to see if that will work. Something like:

https://www.amazon.com/Apple-MC704LL-A-Ethernet-Adapter/dp/B00W7W9FK0/ref=asc_df_B00W7W9FK0/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309773039951&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16187666114803080843&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032481&hvtargid=pla-599566684764&psc=1

Also, going forward please get yourself a VERY high quality surge protector that has insurance to protect your electonics.
