AirPods sound quality.

I bought a new pair of AirPods 2nd gen around February and for starters, there’s always an annoying static noise in the left ear. Whenever I just have them in no music or video playing a static noise starts. Secondly the mic quality is HORRENDOUS whenever I’m recording a voice memo or on a phone call or FaceTime call the voice quality is absolutely disgusting. But if I’m recording a Snapchat video or even on a video call in Snapchat with my AirPods in they sound great. I don’t know what’s wrong with them and I can’t find any answers online.
