I used a Iphone 6 for a long time now and upgraded to an iphone 11 pro max recently. I noticed the chord was different at the base of them. My question is, is it safe to use my old chargers with the iphone 11 pro max? or should I scrap my old charging cables for new ones?

Yes it is safe but keep in mind the one that came with your iPhone is an 18 watt charger, the one that came with your iPhone 6 is 5 watts so it will take longer to charge your Pro Max.

Use the charger that come in the box?
yes, but I tend to keep 2 or 3 on hand besides the one sent. The question is if my old chargers will work with the new phone without damaging it. If they would damage it, I would buy more chargers but I'd rather not spend money if I don't have to in that sense.
