Volume data is out of space

I uploaded a 3.5GB file from

my laptop in my iCloud account. When I go on the Files app on my iPhone in order to download that file I receive a message that says “ you can’t save the file because the volume Data is out of space. Please note, that I am only using 30GB of the total 50GB I have on iCloud and 36 out of the 64GB that I have on my iPhone. It is very frustrating!!

Welcome to the Apple Community.

It isn't the space in the cloud that has run out, but rather the space on your phone.

Like I wrote on the description of the problem, I have more that 20GB free and available in the phone.
