No space to put verification code after signing in on a mac

When I am trying to sign into my icloud on the mac it asks for a verification code, one gets sent to my phone. A message comes up prompting me to put this code in but there is nowhere for it to go??? When I redo the above process it gives me a new code each time but still nowhere for it to go

Not receiving Verification code Hi, I'm trying to setup my New MacBook. While signing into iTunes or App Store in Mac Book, it is asking for Apple ID, Password+Verification Code. My other device which I'm using is my iPhone with the same apple ID. In this phone, If I go to Settings --> Apple ID --> Password & Security --> Get verification Code, Nothing happens. No Verification code is received. I tried logging in through a browser. Even then, when waiting for verification code, I'm only able to get verification code through SMS Text. Notification based verification code is never coming. Which is ok, if I'm logging in through browser as I have the option to choose the way I get the verification code. But to login to MacBook, how do I get a verification code as I'm not receiving it on my iPhone?
