Battery Drain

i have iphone 7 running IOS 13.5.1, background refresh turned off for all apps, auto brightness, lockscreen set a 3minutes. What I have noticed is that even when I'm not using my phone, my phone batteries at times drains fast.

Like last night, went to sleep at 100%, woke up to 48%. check battery setting and it shows ESPN was running in background for five hours.

So turning off my background refresh doesn't turn off an app running in background?

This is not first time when no usage of phone and finds out battery drain due to background use by an app.

Am I missing a step here to keep app from active in the background?

thanks

Hi Appleluser12,

It seems like you're having trouble with battery drain from an app. We can find a fix together.

Has this only happened with this one app in particular?

If it's one specific app, you can try to uninstall and reinstall the app, and if the issue persists you could delete the app or contact the developer:

Good luck!
