iPhone 14 Pro battery drain after restart
Recently I found that my iPhone 's battery will drain 3-5% after I restart it.
I had restored my iPhone, but still can't solve it.
Anyone know how to solve it?
Thanks.

Hello Edward_yc,
And everyone else. This is something I would want looked into as well. I have a few questions so that the rest of us can get as much information as possible and maybe some steps to try.
Does this happen out of the box or after restoring your data? Do you have any network based apps installed that may be pulling in a lot of data and using that battery during start up? Are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular when this happens. I also hope you don't think it forward to ask who is your carrier?
As a suggestion, to isolate if this is hardware or software, does this occur after you have backed up to iCloud or a computer How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
please ensure that your cloud data such as photos and messages are backed up as well if you are using the feature in iCloud photos and messages. Keep your messages up to date with iCloud - Apple Support
Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support
Then you can try to restore your phone and set up as a new device, not from backup. Use the device for a few days and see if it still happens. If so then this I would recommend reaching out to Apple. If not, then this may be a service or app using network resources and draining the batter upon start up.
When reaching out to Apple they may have you repeat some of these steps to get a handle on this as well.
Thank you

I have reset all content and settings and started as new iPhone .
from settings turned off background app refresh, location restricted for some apps and
Battery draining issues resolved.
reset phone to factory settings and do not restore back up
it must fix this issue
Hello Soumendranath,
It seems that there are many that have had similar issues and it seems to dissipate. I suspect that your phone is in the process of moving your data over in the background. This can result in your battery draining for the initial steps of restoring data and syncing information in the background. I have suggested previously, restoring your device as new without a backup to see if the issue occurs still (Not a recommended troubleshooting step due to the possibility of loosing data but a relevant step if you suspect hardware and your data is backed up and safe). It usually does not, that would indicate to me that iCloud messages, iCloud photos, iCloud Drive, or other third party syncing and cloud services may be attempting to bring your new device closer to what your older one was (in terms of data and information). You may see an unusual but not unwarranted uptick in battery use while your device syncs and indexes information to ensure your device is as close to your old one as it can possibly be. In short, your device is working fine and if battery health is at 100% or not indicating services is needed. This is just an initial battery drain to bring your device into alignment with the online features you are using (they will continue to work in the background when your not using them.)You would need to reach out to Apple for confirmation though.
A great way to see this same principal in action would be to open up your laptop and download a few Gigabytes of data when it is not connected to a charger. The battery drain will be far greater than it just sitting there even though you are not actually doing anything yourself.
Thank you
Mikel

I recently found out that, iPhone itself charges the phone to a value higher than what it actually shows.
For example, if you charge your phone to 80%, your phone is actually charged like 83% percent.
You can test it if you restart your phone right after disconnecting from the charger. After you restarted, you can see something higher than you actually charged.
That is how iPhone stays at the last disconnected value for longer, for example, if you charge to 100% you will notice your phone will stay at 100% for hours before it shows discharging.
Then if you restart your phone, it'll show a 2-3% less. and if you keep restarting the phone, you will notice that after a few restarts, it does not lose anymore.
So, after testing this for quite some time, I think iPhone's battery percentage is not 100% accurate. You have a 2-3% -+ difference.
I have the same phone, 14 pro max and I have the same issue.
I restarted (turned off and on) my phone when it was 30% on battery and after booting it up, it had only 25%.
5% of a sudden drop. Then I connected it to the charger and I noticed that it charged very quickly from 25%-30% and from there, it was kinda slow to charge.
So I think, it shows a lesser battery than what we really have or something.
I'm curious about Apple's explanation for this.
Mine also! Its start turning off when my battery on 70%-34% and suddenly it restart and shows my battery is 12%. I did go to apple centre in my country and check my iphone and they say there is no problem with my phone health. Help me why! 😭
I have the same problem with my iPhone 14 even I restart repeatedly every time, it decreases like first time it decrease 4-5%, second time it decrease 2-3% and it lasts till 4th times then stop decreasing after 4th time until I charge device again
Same problem with my 14 pro max.
Another problem drains the battery fast in using Chrome Youtube without heavy use.
I contacted support they say the battery is ok.
I hope apple solves this battery problem, I assure you that a smartphone that prices a lot at the top of the range creates these problems
Hello Nuwaus,
I can completely get wanting to make sure that your getting what you paid for. There are some features that may also be impacting your use and enjoyment of the device. Depending on which iOS you are on there may be options that can help elevate some of what you are experiencing.
I could list the reasons that this may happen but Apple has already created some excellent documents for this.

Same here, 14 Pro Max on iOS 16.2.
Drains exactly 5% after restarting the phone. What a weird issue.
Same I had around 69% today and after restarting my iPhone 14 Pro Max on IOS 16.2 it dropped like 4 or 5 percent.
Same on my Iphone 14 pro, When I rebooted it went from 21% to 18%
Just relax it's ok when you reboot the sensors also restart and show exact battery
