Universal Clipboard works from iPhone->MacBook Air but not the other way

Hello,

I'm having a problem with the Universal Clipboard. Whenever I copy text on my iPhone 8 Plus I can paste it on my MacBook Air. But whenever I copy text on my MacBook I can't paste it on my iPhone.

I'm logged in on my account on both devices.

Best regards,

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

jak.son48,

Thanks for checking the compatibility. Let's also make sure that your devices didn't somehow block one another. Since you can share from the iPhone to the Mac but not the other way around, let's focus on the Mac for this part. Go to Messages > Preferences > Blocked and just check to make sure you aren't blocked. If not, go ahead and restart all the involved devices and try once more.

If that doesn't help, let's toggle off Handoff on all the devices and then toggle it back on. Follow the reverse of the steps in the "Set up Handoff" section of Use Handoff to continue a task on your other devices to do that. After doing that, try once again to test both ways from native apps like Mail, Safari, Notes or Messages.

If the issue remains, try toggling off Bluetooth on all devices and then toggle it back on and test. If still not working as expected , restart your Wi-Fi router and modem and test. If no success, forget the Wi-Fi network on all devices and then reconnect again and test.

We've given you a lot of steps to try, but we're confident one of these will help.

Take care.

Hey there, jak.son48.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Thanks for your question about Universal Clipboard not working quite like you'd expect when copying on your Mac and attempting to paste to your iPhone. We'd be glad to see what we can do to assist.

Let's start by looking over Use Universal Clipboard to copy and paste between your Apple devices to ensure that both devices have every required setting set the way it should be for this function to work. Also make sure that both devices meet the System requirements for Continuity on Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch.

Making sure that everything is compatible and that everything that needs to be turned on is will go a long way in ensuring this works correctly.

Be well.
