Since upgrading to 13.5.1 the silent mode switch has no effect. When I toggle it, the icon that indicates sound on/off does not appear. And the phone still makes sounds. I tried a factory reset and it didn’t fix the issue. I have an iPhone 11. Anyone else have this issue?

You mentioned that your iPhone continued to make sound after turning on Silent mode. Does it make all sounds or just some? We ask because while in Silent mode, you can still play videos or music and hear sound, so that is separate from other items that make audio such as notifications. Learn more about that in How to put your iPhone on vibrate, ring, or silent mode. If this is happening with specific sounds or actions, let us know exactly which ones.
