The language regarding 'account' on Mail on OS X is confusing.
Is it possible to set up TWO apple email accounts on Mail, for example bozo@icloud.com and theclown@icloud.com?
And when I try to do that, I am asked to sign in using my AppleID. When I do, my password is not recognized. Apple support does not seem to have a ready answer that I can find.
Does anyone actually use Apple Mail on a macbook?

You can use any iCloud alias addresses that are tied to your Apple ID, but they do not need a separate account. They all use the same account.
You cannot do that since only a single iCloud account can be associated with any given device at a time. Since iCloud email is inseparable tied to the iCloud account in use in the device, you cannot add a second email only access login.
You would need to use different passwords. It sounds like you might not be. A very large percent of Apple users you Apple mail. I can't say how large though.
