"No location found" for friend in Find My on iPhone

A few weeks ago, I was able to see my friend's FIND MY location but just last week, even when his location settings and mobile data settings are all on, I still couldn't see his location unless he open the app then I would be able to see but once he closes his app, I wont be able to locate him anymore. The states on my side would show that there is "no location found" but on his side, he could see mine very clearly even if I have close my app. Why is this and how could we slove this? Because it doesn't make sense that it was working very well a few weeks ago but then last week it just stopped when none of us pressed anything towards the FIND MY app.

I have same problem after traded in my old phones for iPhone 12. The problem for me is kind of unique. My wife’ phone and my phone are appear on the “Find My”; however, the 2 phones my kids use are not appear on my phone or my wife’s phone. I have tried all suggested steps but no prevail. I even reinstalled my phone but no success. Don’t know what to make of the problem. Hardware? Software?

I just got another email from Apple Support indicates that they still working on the issue. I don’t know how it worked out on our phones. I have 2 iPhones 12, one xr and one 7. Initially, only the 12 communicated so I thought the issue was due to the phones; however, after I tried using the message app to share location, they works so I don’t think it is hardwares. Even my old iPhone 5s showed up.

Issue of Find My also problematic with iOS 14.3 - even upon following all online and Apple suggestions, "No location found" for all people in "find my" no longer available - this is clearly an Apple issue, and hopefully resolved within the next iOS update.

Very frustrating when so called improvements are made and changes to iOS take away features and functions we have grown to depend on. I and many others are loyal Apple consumers, I feel we all deserve better than the online runaround to resolve issues that are suggested and recommended without positive results. I do appreciate those who at least try and make the effort - however Apple tech does need to step up when changes to iOS fail.

I received an email from Apple Support and they still haven’t figured out the reason yet. However; you can try this to see if it works.

go to the message app, choose the contact you want to share the location, click on the name-info-Share My Location-Share Indefinitely. The other iPhone should receive a text with a map with your location. If that person accept then it may works. It works for us. Good luck.

Most of us did nothing. If you’re holding out for Apple to fix your problem you should consider removing and re-adding friends and family. I know what you’re saying but they aren’t going to change something that addresses every users contacts. If you want rot fixed it would appear it’s on you. To say above that “No this is not the fix” is misleading. Choose your own path I suppose but don’t hold your breath. The paths broke and they are permission based. It’s not that big of deal to remove and add folks again. I get it’s not your fault it wasn’t mine either but the point it to make it work.

I spent an hour on the phone with Apple Support technicians. It was a pleasant session, even though the issue was not resolve. The second technician collected some analytical data to send to their engineers. He said he will follow up with me on Wednesday. To my surprise, a moment later after the conversation, the issue on “Find My” was resolved. All our phones are now linked on Find My.

Thank you b4uabb for your response and further to (No Location Found On Find MY). As previously mentioned - all efforts have been exhausted regarding my issue with Find My. Your suggestions has been attempted numerous times from both ends and all other online and www suggestions fail for me - My 6s with iOS 14.3 {Find My} had worked in the past (prior to upgrading to 14.3), and my friend currently with 12 Pro iOS 14.1 can see me in their Find My, however I cannot see them. Do I downgrade my 6s IOS to 14.1 to resolve or wait for Apple to fix in the next iOS release?

I believe this is likely Apples way to slowly end its support life for the 6s, and Apples subtle way of wanting me to upgrade to newer product. I am a very loyal Apple consumer and reasonably savvy with my devise. "Find My/ previously Find my Friends", does not work after upgrading to 14.3.

I remain eager to employ any solution/fix that I have not already attempted thus far.

Thank you all for your support

I also tried b4uabb's suggestion with no luck. The weird part for me is I can see two of my three family members in findmy app just fine. My wife's phone for whatever reason I can no longer see. She initially had a iPhone 7Plus and was upgraded to an 11 after Christmas, but I was having the issue on the 7Plus so it is not phone related. All 4 of us are on iOS 14.3. Our phones are a 12 Pro, 11, 8 and Se 2020. As someone else noted I can no longer see my wife's phone in findmy app on my MacBook Pro or my iPad. I'm not sure why two of the phones are fine but one is not. I don't believe you can downgrade to 14.1 anymore as Apple has stopped signing it once 14.2 was released. I haven't heard too much about this problem and following some Youtube tech channels who have just recently released videos on the bug fixes and new features coming out in iOS 14.4, there is no mention of a fix for this issue or any mention of it at all. It doesn't not seem like this is a widely talked about issue.
