Sidecar Desktops

Hi,

I hope someone can help. I'm using a 2020 13" MacBook Pro with a 6th gen iPad.

Sidecar works perfectly either over wifi or connected using thunderbolt to lightning but I have a niggle. On my mac I have a number of folders and icons on the desktop and when sidecar starts they all move across to the iPad and the desktop on my Mac is left 'bare'.

Is there a way to keep 'Desktop 1' as the main screen on the MacBook and the iPad become 'Desktop 2 or Desktop 3'?

Basically - I want my folder icons and stacks on my mac, not on my iPad.

Hope that makes sense! Thanks,

Ben

It makes perfect sense.

I don't have an iPad to test Sidecar, but I expect it to work just as any external desktop would, so the following ought to work fine.

With the iPad connected, go to System Preferences->Displays. Click the Arrangement tab.

Drag the white menu bar representation to the top of the mac internal screen.

Here it is in pictures (just with an external display, not an iPad):
